Custom Heaters

Tutco Farnam offers the very best in the design and engineering of custom heaters and heating elements. Our capabilities are ideally suited to meet demanding production schedules, and we are committed to keeping up with the constant changes occurring in manufacturing and product design.

With over 2,000 custom heater designs there is a good chance that we've made something similar to the heating solution you seek.

We are both application and customer committed. An engineer looks at every opportunity that comes in. We listen and we apply what we’ve learned to each opportunity. We won’t just manufacture it. We’ll design it to work better for your overall business.

TUTCO-FARNAM CUSTOM SERVICES

OEM Heater Design

We work closely with OEMs to design and produce heaters for new and existing products. From small shops to Fortune 500, our manufacturing and assembly process can dynamically ramp-up to your needed capacity.

Engineering Support

We don’t just build value into our products. We build value in our relationships. From special requests to expediting orders, we listen to our clients and respond with products and services that meet and exceed expectations.

Add-ons & Assembly

Add-ons simplify assembly, save money, reduce inventory hassles, and get more product out the door faster. From caps and wires to larger assemblies can be manufactured and shipped to your door. We also offer barcoding and component testing.

Retrofits

Need a new heater design but don’t want to rework the equipment? Perhaps you’re stuck with old technology with limited supply and rising costs. Or a poor service supplier! We’ve done hundreds of retrofits, each uniquely different from the next.

Our products are not the most expensive nor are they the cheapest. We work with our clients to provide the best overall solution.

PRODUCTION & RAMP-UP

Tutco-Farnam is a custom heater manufacturer with the ability to ramp-up your production from small to big. OEMs can start with a 10 piece prototype order and grow to 10,000 pieces per month all within the same company. You’ll still be working with the same sales rep and the same design engineers.

Tutco has manufacturing facilities in the USA (three different cities), Mexico and China to support wherever your final assembly may be. All of these facilities are Tutco owned. While many competitors rely on partners and relationships to produce their products, our products are Tutco made by Tutco people at Tutco facilities. We have a UL recognized lab in Tennessee where Farnam is frequently a test case for new ISO standards in North America.

Engineering Service and Support is a big part of what we do. Offered on an application by application basis. With our extensive heat application experience, chances are we have done something similar to your application. We can even assist you with your process design. While we generally will not design your process for you we are happy to assist.

REQUEST A QUOTE DESIGN PROCESS

1

Consult

We communicate with you to identify all relevant details of the project. Our committee will review the project and give final approval. If the project does not pass the committee, we refer clients to our standard product line.

2

Design & Drawings

Engineers render a preliminary drawing of the custom heater. Timeframe: 2-3 Weeks

3

Prototype

The client-approved drawing will be used to construct a prototype. Cost = piece price + non-recurring engineering cost if required.

4

Production & Ramp-Up

After our client approves the prototype, we will then quote production quantities.
